Professional triathlete who has been lucky enough to be able to live off my hobby and achieve goals that I would never have imagined. Triathlon gave me everything my friends, wife, lifestyle.

To know more about Javier Gómez Noya:
How did you start cycling/ triathlon?: I started in the world of swimming, in the pool that I entered there was a group that did triathlons in the area, they knew that I liked running and they encouraged me to try it.
Why do you continue with triathlon now?: I continue to do triathlon because it motivates me to know how I can perform in the long distance and to experience other tupes of training for it.
What was the most important race you´ve done to date?: I would say the Olympics in London it as the most special race I have raced.
What is you pre-race ritual?: Eat four hours before the race. I do a few of the three disciplines if I have the logistic and opportunity to do it.
What do you think about while cycling?: I always try to focus on the training that is scheduled. On the easy rides, I like to share it with training mates and speak about everything.
What is your go-to training meal?: Coffee and dry fruits.
How do you recover after a tough cycling?: I must admit I am not the meticulous athlete on terms of recovery, but in general, some recovery drink, shower, then eat well and short nap.
What song is your go-to for the cycling?: Rock & Roll, ACDC, Metallica… I cannot choose just one.
Who is your favor cycling "team"?: Movistar team, I shared sponsorship with them, and I really appreciate the support Movistar is giving to me.
Apart from endurance sports, what is your passion?: Music, play the guitar with my local band and of course hang out my wife, family and friends.
What was the best piece of cycling advice you ever received?: One year I raced cycling, I was in the breakaway in of the stages. I was pushing very hard, then team director approach me and told me: Do not burn yourself, no matter how fast you ride, the group will the same gap, it is all about the last 50km.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?: Go step by step, everything is a process, if you skip parts of the process, you take the risk of not enjoying the journey.
