A short bio of who you are and your career so far

An athlete since I was little, I started swimming and competing when I was only 5 years old. At 22, a motorcycle accident changed my life and sport became my way of life. Paralympic in Athens 2004 in swimming, in 2012 I started in the world of triathlon being runner-up in the world. Since 2013 triathlon professional achieving very good results.

Three greatest achievements in his career

  • World Champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019
  • European Champion in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021
  • World runner-up in 2012, 2013 and 2021

How did you start cycling / triathlon?: I started by chance, the made me a prosthesis to ride a bike and I started with the mountain bike, months later the made me one to run. I was already swimming since my childhood, so a friend convinced me.

Why do you continue with triathlon now?: It has become my job, my passion and my way of life.

What was the most important race you´ve done to date?: Maybe my first world championship in Rotterdam 2017, although there are many great races in my sporting life.

What is your pre-race ritual?: Check before departure that everything is in its place and visualize the entire transition area very well.

What do you think about while cycling?: Competing I try not to think too much.

What is your favourite training food?: Bars and a good caffeinated gel always help.

How do you recover after a tough cycling?: Eating good. And trying to rest, I have two little children…hehehe.

What song is your go-to for the cycling?: Human- The killers.

Who is your favorite cycling "team"?: Movistar, I think they have very good Spanish riders and they have done things very well.

Apart from endurance sports, what is your passion? : Any sport, Ski, windsurfing, water skiing

What was the best piece of cycling advice you ever received?: Enjoy, enjoy the bike, every workout.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?: Enjoy the journey and if you are lucky enough to become a paralympic sport professional, enjoy it even more.
