ROTOR & COMPANY: BH RX Team 4.0

Based in the Basque capital Vitoria-Gasteiz, BH Bikes is one of the Spanish bicycle manufacturers with the greatest history and tradition. Its birth dates back to 1909, a fact that speaks about the experience it has. Virtually all cyclists in Spain have had a BH in their garage at some point, either when they were children or as adults.

Over time has positioned BH as one of the most innovative and advanced brands in the bike sector, whether in MTB, road or in the field of e-bikes, being one of the first brands to bet on this range and with its own technology in Spain.

But this time we are going to focus on a discipline, cyclocross (CX), and a bike, the BH RX Team 4.0, which undoubtedly has a ROTOR flavour.

It consists of a monocoque frame, built 100% with high, medium and low modulus carbon fibers, and in whose design and geometry some of the most experienced bikers in Europe have collaborated. The fork, also made of carbon fiber, is oversized to provide rigidity to the whole, in addition to having a wide wheel arch that prevents the accumulation of mud.

At the drivetrain, the 11-speed Shimano GRX is the protagonist in the rear derailleur, shift levers and front derailleur, with the 11/34T Shimano 105 casette. The brakes also belong to the GRX Hydra series.

At the bottom bracket, however, ROTOR Bike Components appears with its ROTOR Vegast Spider Mount crankset in 46/36T combination (round chainring). Manufactured from forged 6082 aluminium, it is inspired by ROTOR’s racing heritage and is named in honor of 3 of the highest climbs from our Grand Tour victories: VEleta, GAlibier and STelvio.

The assembly of this attractive BH RX Team 4.0 is completed by Shimano RS171 Disc wheels, Michelin Mud2 700 X30 cyclocross-specific tires and the San Marco Monza Start saddle. The rest of the peripheral components (seatpost, handlebar, stem…) come from the BH factory itself.

A bike, in short, made for CX at the highest level, and that has a somewhat cheaper version (RX Team 3.0), mounted with Shimano 105, which also has the ROTOR Vegast crankset.
