ROTOR UNO new groupset quick start guideROTOR UNO new groupset quick start guide

ROTOR UNO will take your riding to the next level every time you go out. To ensure you experience what we do, we want to help you take those first steps and enjoy its full potential. You can download the manuals by clicking on the buttons below.

1. Getting started with ROTOR UNO groupset

Before using the product, ensure that the rear derailleur and the shifter/brake-shifters are fully charged and paired with each other correctly. ROTOR UNO will always come with factory default settings and pre-paired, so you can either leave it as standard or customise it to your own preferences through the ROTOR UNO App.

2. Installation

We always recommend that installation be carried out by a qualified professional to ensure correct operation. Incorrect assembly could result in serious injury or even death. If you decide to install it yourself, you must download the installation guide and follow the steps carefully to avoid damaging the equipment.

Tools required for MTB Groupset:

  • 2 / 3 / 5 mm Allen key (Not included)
  • 8 mm Hexagonal socket (Not included)
  • Torx 10 (Not included)
  • Torx 20 (Not included)

Tools required for Gravel Groupset:

  • 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 mm Allen key (Not included)
  • 8 mm Hexagonal socket (Not included)
  • 8 mm Flat wrench (Not included)

Safety equipment:

  • Protective glasses and gloves

3. Battery Charging and Replacement

Battery type:

  • Rear Derailleur (Rechargeable Li-ion 600mAh - 15.000 shifts)
  • Shifter/brake-shifters (CR2032 batteries)

To charge the rear derailleur, simply connect the ROTOR charging cable (included in the box) to the magnetic port on the side and you will see the battery LED turn red (charging). In the case of the shifter (1x CR2032 Battery) or brake-shifters (1x CR2032 each lever), replace the CR2032 batteries with new ones if the LED turns red while pressing the buttons.

4. Pairing with the App

To make your life easier, we have developed a new app that will help you customise your ROTOR UNO groupset. You can select your cassette, do the initial calibration, fine-tune each of the speeds and pair your other ROTOR UNO components.

  • Register on the App.
  • Add and select your device.
  • Select the cassette you are going to use.
  • Do the initial setup and set the rear derailleur to its ‘origin’ point.
  • Fine-tune the speeds to your own preference.

5. Initial calibration

This is the most important step of all. A mistake here could lead to the unit malfunctioning and therefore significantly reducing its lifetime and performance. The purpose of the initial calibration* is to determine a ‘point of origin’ for our rear derailleur. This point is the initial alignment between the smallest sprocket and our rear derailleur.

There are two methods: manually or through the app (recommended).

*To complete this step successfully, you will need to follow the instructions in the MTB installation guide or Gravel Installation guide.

6. Fine Adjustment

Before proceeding with this step, you must have correctly completed the initial calibration. You can proceed with this step through the ROTOR App in the ‘Fine adjustment’ section.

Note: The fine adjustment setting, is designed to provide complete freedom of setup, allowing to program the groupset to work with any cassette between 10-13 speeds. This allows to index each sprocket and save this setting for maximum performance.

7. Colour coding

It is very important that we clearly understand the meaning of the different LED colours when taking the first steps with our groupset, as this will help us to identify the status of the different components in real time.
