ROTOR is passionate about Gravel! A strong sixth place finish in the World Cup.
The team is getting a taste for the Gravel World Championships. An extremely fun race in which Sergio took sixth place and Miquel placed in the top 20.
Yesterday, Sunday 4th June, the third edition of the Hutchinson Ranxo Gravel took place. A competition with more and more participants, held in Ponts, Lleida, and which is part of the UCI World Gravel Series calendar.
After the outstanding second place of Jose Mari Sánchez in the previous edition, the team was looking forward to this race, and we are more and more followers of the Gravel. With a course of 160 km and more than 2000 metres of positive elevation gain, as well as tracks to enjoy to the maximum, an excellent race took place.
The competition started with a tough climb, the most challenging of the route, which selected the groups that would fight for the victory. In the leading group, where Sergio was, there were numerous attacks. In the end, a group of nine riders fought until the end for the third place on the podium, with Sergio finishing just 10 seconds behind the third and taking sixth place, first in his age category.
"I am satisfied with my first encounter with gravel racing this season.
It was a fast race in which I was constantly in the leading group.
The result was positive and, above all, we enjoyed a high quality race.
Gravel is a discipline that I practice often during my training and I love to compete in it!"- Sergio Mantecón
Instead, Miquel finished in the top 20 in a competition that gave him the opportunity to rediscover his passion for gravel.
